Barak Hussain Obama has now been sworn in as the new President of the US.

The whole world has been looking to him to provide some sort of change out of all the problems that they face. However some Muslims have also started to look to him in some hope.
The questions arise, then what kind of man is he and what kind of change can the Muslims really expect?

This weeks talk compares Obama to the once great Ruler of Ethiopia, to whom, the Muslims of Makkah went to, to get some respite from the suffering they endured.

Will this man really bring any change? Are are expectations too high? Will he look on the Muslims favourably? Do we need him to  look on the Muslims favourably?

These are some of the questions that are addressed in the circle below.

Below is the Text for of a speech by Abdullah of Saudi at the Kuwaiti Economic conference on the 20th of Jan 2009 - Less than a week after the Gaza Massacre.

“Dear Dignitaries, I greet you with the formal Islamic greeting: “Peace be with you.”

We, along with the entire peoples of the Arab nation, aspire for definite results from this economic summit; results that bring glad tidings of security and prosperity for all Arabs and Muslims everywhere.
Economy, however, no matter how vital, cannot equal life itself, nor does it replace dignity without which no life is worth living. As the Muslims in Gaza were being massacred by the Zionists, a lot of Muslims wanted to help our brothers and sisters.

We saw the sincere individuals come out onto the streets, collect charity, organise protests, and vent their anger and we saw the insincere Muslim Rulers also make some ‘effort’ with their contributions to the the situation of the Muslims in Gaza.

But with the harsh reality of war and the Mulims being killed, the question we all ask is, what is the solution, what can we do to stop this problem.

With the Muslims of Gaza being bombarded and murdered daily by the Israeli army, there is a deafening silence.

This silence is not of the hundreds of thousands of Muslims how have come out onto the streets in protest of the aggression.

But the sound of the Ummah is not loud just against the aggression of the Israeli’s against the Muslims in Gaza, but also now getting louder against the Corrupt rulers in the Muslim world who have remained Silent on this issue.

This talk discusses how the Muslims rulers really don’t represent the views of the Muslims, their footing is very weak and time is right for them to be replaced by the sincere leadership for the Muslims Ummah.
