When we look at the problems the Muslims face  around the world, we see a lot of oppression as in  China and Russia and we also see the suppression of Islam in the Muslim Lands. There are also the attempts at subverting Islam in the Western Lands.

With all this going on, it is easy to get into a cycle of apathy, woe and being disheartened.
However we should realise that this suppression and oppression of Islam is there for a reason. It is because the Muslims around the world are calling for Islam, they want to live by it and they want to show it to the world.

The Hadith of Our Rasool (SAW) clearly shows that soon Islam will be back.

“Tyranny will not remain subdued after me but for a little while, until it ascends and all that prevails of injustice will expel justice until the one who is born in the tyranny will not know other than it. Then Allah the blessed and Almighty will give justice and all that will come within justice will expel tyranny, until the one who is born within justice will not know other than it.” [Ahmed]

All the Muslims who are under at least 85years old, have been born under this oppression so InshaAlllah we all impatiently await and eagerly work for the Khilafah.

This week’s talk we discuss this oppression being carried out in China and the signs of the awakening of the Islamic Giant around the world.

“Prophethood will last with you for as long as Allah wants it to last. Then there will be Khilafah according to the Method of Prophethood, and things will be as Allah wishes them to be. Then Allah will end it when He wishes. Then there will be hereditary rule, and things will be as Allah wishes them to be. Then Allah will end it when He wishes. Then there will be an oppressive rule, and things will be as Allah wishes them to be. Then Allah will end it when He wishes. Then there will be a Khilafah according to the method of Prophethood.” Then he (SAW) fell silent.”

The concept of equality is much talked about in Western society and is supposed to be one of the strongest issues that is used to push capitalistic values.

Often it is the covering Muslim sister who, obeys her creator, who become the easy targets for this attack. They are used to label Islam as oppressive, barbaric and uncultured with no rights for the Woman whatsoever.

But when we take a closer look at the Western society and values, we realise that this concept of equality is really a myth. It does not exist in the work place, for the old, for the coloured or even the women and what we really is a society where everyone has more a value as an economic commodity than a Human being.

This week’s talk however looks closely at this whole notion of equality and breaks it down and highlights what really oppression is and how Islam deals with this issue of women’s rights as well as the rights of everyone else in society, the young, the old, the coloured, the women, the men and so on..

There seems to be no end to the attacks on Islam these days as it appears to be punch bag in Europe.

President Sarkozy being the latest in a long line, who has now chosen to attack Burqa.

As these verbal assaults continue to build and get harsher, the Muslims in Europe need to be in a position to intellectually refute these attack, show the flaws in these arguments and at the same time present the solution from Islam.

This week’s talk discusses how we should not carry Islam and the Dawah of Islam, before going on to address how it should be done in the correct way.

A lot of lies and rumours are portrayed about the concept of Jihad in Islam. It is used by governments around the world, as a word that allows them to justify their political policies against Islam. It is also used as a word to instil fear and confusion in the masses of the Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The fact is that Jihad is the method of Dawah and the foreign policy of an Islamic state. It is there to be used to convey Islam to the world and bring justice to people who have been oppressed by the man made systems.

However if we look the concept of colonialism, we find it is also the foreign policy of the western Governments of today. However the objective of colonialism is not to look after the affairs of the people per se, but to exploit the people and their resources. Many incidences in the past couple of centuries, as in Sudan and the Indian subcontinent, highlight this fact and even more so today in the Muslim lands.

This week’s talk discusses the issue of Jihad and compares it with Colonialism, highlighting the very clear differences and how this subject should be discussed.

Career Politics

There is a lot of turmoil today in the British political system. The main issue being faced is the expenses issue. The politicians are enduring all rage of the general population and justifiably so.

However, the problem is not due to the how the expenses system itself, although this is a partial cause, but more to do with the mindset of the politicians.

The politicians go into their profession as a career aim. Most of them did not do anything before politics nor will they ever do anything outside of politics. The result is that the most of the individuals see it as just another job and not as a responsibility to look after the people.

Thus the mentality that develops over the years is one of ‘what can I get for myself’ – which naturally results in a creeping greed and the end result we see today.

In Islam there is no such concept of a career in politics. The idea is that everyone should be involved in it in their daily lives, but some are chosen to represent the thoughts and emotions of the masses, which is then conveyed to the Khalifah or his advisory council.

This talk discusses the issue of the career Politician and why it is flawed and how we as Muslims should address the subject.

The attention on Islam is unprecedented these days. The focus to change it by any means is now the objective of the western countries.

We discuss this issue from the perspective of our noble Rasool (SAW). How he also faced the calls for change and when he did not concede to the demands of the Quraish, they resorted to boycott, intimidation, offers of bribery and more.

The Muslims today who call for Islam also face this exact same scenario in the West.

This talk is an introduction to the talks to come over the next few weeks, where we will be discussing how we respond as Muslims to the attacks and demands of the Western countries.

However this time we will be discussing the positive aspects of Islam and how it really has a place in today’s world to solve the corruption, the crime, the economic issues and the all the other problems that exist and are faced by Muslims and Non-Muslims.

We hope Insha-Allah that we all have the confidence to become the ambassadors for Islam, as Allah (swt) requires us to and convey it in the best of manners.

The Rasool (SAW) Said “Be aware of Satan, for your safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

There are a lot of influences today slowly pressuring the Muslims away from Islam. There are calls to modernise Islam from various voices in the UK.

The title of the talk being used as an example of how the Muslims in Britain should do this, by allowing mixed, unsegregated congregations to take place.

This week’s talk discusses these calls to modernise Islam how we should respond to this. Can Islam be modernised? What does it mean to modernise it?  What can we change if anything of it?

These are some of the import questions answered in the talk.

This week saw a lot of diplomatic activity with regard to Pakistan.

Hilary Clinton mentioned Pakistan in her speech to the US congress and we saw Gordon Brown make a surprise visit, make speeches calling certain areas of Pakistan as a crucible of terrorism, as well as offer money to the Pakistani Prime minster.

Were all these efforts and mentions there to help Pakistan or were there other motives?
This week’s talk discusses the real reason why the attention on Pakistan is growing on a daily basis.

Who Polices the Police
icon1 Qaisar | icon2 Previous Circle/Talks | icon4 Friday 24th Apr, 2009, 11:10 PM| icon3No Comments »

There has recently been a lot of attention on the Police.
There have been random stop and searches, normally targeting the Muslim youth. There has also been the raids on innocent people’s houses.
Now the Police are under investigation for the alleged assault of demonstrators at the G20 demonstrations, and in once case the investigation involves a death.

Further to this there have been recent high profile arrests with all of those arrested at gun point being release without any charge whatsoever.

The question then arises where is the justice? Where is the accountability? Are these on off events or is the problem a bit more complex?

This weeks talk addresses these issues and more.

The claim by the Bangladeshi Government was that the BDR (the Boarder guards) started a Mutiny as a result of protest over pay. This incident resulted in over 140 high-ranking Army officials being killed along with their families and all the perpetrators being allowed to escape.

However if we scratch just below the surface, we see that this mutiny is not what it seems.

Rather it is another plan hatched to weaken the armies in another Muslim country.

This weeks talk goes into the details of the events on what really happened and how this is just another plan to divide the Muslims and the Army in Bangladesh so that they fight amongst each other.
